The register of burials at St John's changed its format in 1835. A different handwriting takes over, that of a person who was clearly copying the details of the entries from original registers. This handwriting continues from 1835 to 1882. In character it is neat but rather hurried, with the result that at times it is difficult read. There are a number of suspect transcriptions in the web pages that follow, all marked by a query (?). In addition, for the period 1835 to 1843 the amount of information provided is reduced.

The officiating ministers encountered regularly in these years were as follows:
The Rev. John Armstrong, English Chaplain at St John's Church, 1825 to 1842;
The Rev. William Brown, Scots Chaplain at St Andrew's Church, 1829 to 1850;
The Rev. William Dempster, the first minister of the American Methodist Church, 1836 to 1842;
The Rev. William Armstrong, Assistant Chaplain at St John's Church, 1839 to 1841; he was the son of the Rev. John Armstrong, and filled his father's place during the latter's absence in Europe;
The Rev. Barton Lodge, the second English Chaplain at St John's Church, 1842 to 1847.
